Hedgehog Awareness

The Shedders have been busy today enhancing the Marchwood Hedgehog Watch awareness area with bird boxes, bug hotels and hedgehog highway openings. The picnic benches have also been placed around the Lloyd Recreation Ground (they may be moved at a later date).

Many thanks to R.A.D Engineering Ltd for providing the steel work to tie in the ends of the wheelchair accessible bench, we very much appreciate it.

To answer some questions that have been asked, the Hedgehog Awareness Area is not really about providing a place for hedgehogs to move into, but about starting conversations about what things can be done in our own gardens to allow hedgehogs to thrive.
